Mr. Sunil Kohli has over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, having held various technical and leadership positions throughout his distinguished career.

He previously served as Head – Reinsurance and Liability Underwriting at Reliance General Insurance Company in India. Prior to that, he held the position of General Manager at Jubilee Insurance Company Ltd. in Kenya.

Mr. Kohli brings extensive expertise in reinsurance, underwriting, liability insurance, risk management and executive management, with a strong track record of leadership and international experience across the insurance industry.

MR. OMAR BIN AHMED BIN ABDULLAH AL-SHAIKH
Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Sheikh Omar Ahmed Abdullah Al Sheikh brings extensive and diverse professional experience in investment management, business administration, corporate governance, risk management, and executive leadership. He currently serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Dhofar Insurance Company SAOG.

Sheikh Omar holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Management, from the United States of America.

From 2001 to 2014, Sheikh Omar served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sharikah Fanniyah Omaniyah . He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Financial Services SAOG, in addition to his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Dhofar Insurance SAOG.

Sheikh Omar also serves as a Board Member of Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding SAOG, Omani Gulf Food Company SPC, and Shanfari & Partners LLC.

Previously, he served as a Board Member of Dhofar Food & Investments SAOG and Sohar International Bank SAOG. During his tenure at Sohar International Bank SAOG, he served as Chairman of the Risk Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.

MR. IBRAHIM JUBAIR​
Legal Advisor​​

Ibrahim Jubair is the Head of Legal at Dhofar Insurance Company S.A.O.G., with more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance, financial services, investment, and corporate sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.

He leads the Company’s legal function and provides strategic legal advice to the Board of Directors and Executive Management on insurance law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation, commercial transactions, and legal risk management.

Throughout his career, Ibrahim has advised on complex insurance and reinsurance arrangements, bancassurance partnerships, healthcare administration agreements, technology and outsourcing projects, corporate restructurings, and high-value commercial disputes.

Before joining Dhofar Insurance, he held senior legal and compliance positions with prominent financial institutions listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange. These roles provided him with extensive experience in capital markets, banking, corporate finance, and regulatory affairs.

Ibrahim is a certified Compliance Officer for listed companies and securities firms. He also holds professional qualifications in corporate governance, securities and investment, risk management, anti-money laundering, and Islamic finance.

His practical legal judgement and commercially focused approach enable him to address complex legal and regulatory matters while supporting sound governance and sustainable business growth.

MR. VENKATACHALAM SEKAR​

Venkatachalam Sekar is an accomplished finance executive with over three decades of leadership experience across the life and general insurance sectors. He has a strong track record in financial stewardship, strategic planning, corporate governance, regulatory reporting, financial controls, and enterprise-level insurance operations.

Prior to joining the Company, he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company, India, and held senior finance leadership positions at SBI Life Insurance Company and Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, bringing extensive professional expertise, strong financial discipline, and valuable insight to the leadership team.

Tahir Ayoub possesses over three decades of experience in the insurance sector, having been actively involved in insurance and reinsurance operations since 1990. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive expertise in facultative and treaty reinsurance, underwriting support, claims coordination, and risk assessment. He has worked closely with insurance companies, reinsurers, and brokers to design effective reinsurance solutions that enhance risk management and support sustainable business growth. His expertise encompasses negotiating reinsurance arrangements, coordinating with international markets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing technical support for complex insurance programs.

Senior financial-sector executive with over 27 years of professional experience in managerial and leadership roles across the insurance and capital markets. Holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Strathclyde, UK, with extensive expertise in strategic business development, financial and technical policy, legislative frameworks, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and institutional development.

A strategic and results-oriented professional with a strong track record of contributing to the development and implementation of business strategies, policies, and regulatory frameworks. Experienced in translating complex technical, financial, legislative, and regulatory requirements into effective institutional policies and practices while maintaining alignment with business objectives, risk management principles, and governance standards.

He has experience across Life Insurance, General Insurance, Banking, and Non-Banking Financial Services (NBFCs).

During his career, he has worked with organizations including ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Bajaj Group entities across NBFC, Life Insurance and General Insurance businesses, and Liberty General Insurance. He holds professional qualifications including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA – IIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA – ISACA), Diploma in Information Systems Audit [DISA (ICAI)], Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI – EC-Council), Social Auditor (Institute of Social Auditors of India) and AICA Level 1 (ICAI).

Hamed Al Wahaibi is the Assistant General Manager – Retail Sales & Bancassurance at Dhofar Insurance Company (S.A.O.G.), where he leads the branch network, Direct Sales Team, agents, brokers, bancassurance partnerships, and call centre channels. With over a decade at Dhofar Insurance, progressing from a frontline underwriting role in 2014 to senior management today, he brings deep experience across retail distribution, bancassurance, branch operations, business development, and strategic partnership management within the insurance industry. Hamed has consistently delivered sustainable business growth and strengthened strategic alliances with some of the largest banks in Oman, including leading NBFCs.

He has led initiatives focused on operational excellence, digital transformation, and customer experience, and is recognised for his commercial acumen, collaborative leadership, and results-driven approach. He is professionally certified by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), demonstrating his commitment to the highest standards of insurance professionalism and continuous learning. Hamed is committed to developing high-performing teams and delivering innovative insurance solutions that create long-term value for customers, partners, and stakeholders.

Atia Ashfaq Hanif

Atia Hanif with over a decade of experience in strategic HR leadership, organizational development, talent management, and learning and development. Prior to joining the insurance sector, she held leadership roles within the oil and gas industry, leading workforce development and organizational transformation initiatives. Atia holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering, is CIPD Level 5 qualified, and has earned professional certifications in Strategic People Management, NEBOSH, ISO Auditing, and Vocational Assessment.

Throughout his career, Qasim has developed a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of the insurance industry and contributed to initiatives aimed at enhancing business performance and customer experience. Mr. Ayub holds a master’s degree in social science and is a law graduate. He started his professional career with the Company in 1990 and is currently the deputy general manager Reinsurance. Sekar Venkatachalam brings with him an experience of over 23 years and has worked extensively in life insurance and general insurance segment. Prior to joining the company, he was associated with Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company, India, as Chief Financial Officer.

He was also associated with SBI Life Insurance Company, Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company during 2001 to 2012. Sekar Venkatachalam is a qualified chartered accountant and cost accountant.

Mr. Ibrahim Jubair is professionally qualified as Corporate Lawyer, in-House Legal Advisor with work experience of over 21 years’ experience in Sultanate of Oman, he served as Head of Legal & Compliance in many Public Stock Companies. Oman Orix Leasing SAOG and Al Madina Investment SAOG.

Mr. Al Shaikh holds an MBA from the University Of Southern Colorado, USA and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management from the same university. Mr. Al Shaikh was a finance director of Shanfari and Partners Co. LLC from 2001 to 2013 and currently serves as Chairman of Financial Services Co. SAOG, Director, Dhofar International Development & Investment Co. SAOG and Omani Vegetables Oil & Derivatives Co. LLC.
